¡Ú Introduction from the Artistic Director
Welcome to the new Five Fools!
If you are a regular patron of our company you will see that this is a very different show to the last, with strange new acts, and crazy new characters. We have two new members of the company who have brought with them fresh skills and ideas; plus old friends have joined us again to make a feast of fun and foolery for you and your family to enjoy.
Five Fools is a circus based comedy that mirrors the world around us. A world where the aggressive, the powerful, the love struck, the foolish, the loud and the silent all live and work together. Their journey is our journey.
But this show is not just about us performing for you. It is about you performing with us.
The show is packed with opportunities for you to join us in song, word and action gaining new language in a fun and stress free environment.
Recent studies in brain development during early childhood clearly show that anxiety and stress hinders the learning process. Positive language experiences at an early age are very important; and that is our aim; to help your child grow to their best of their abilities without tedious stressful drilling and anxiety.
Life is increasingly fast, noisy and demanding, and we are often asked to perform more rapidly than we are able; and demand the same of others. Our children are pushed to excel and the very act of pushing can sometimes be counterproductive to the clear and imaginative thinking that they will need to solve the problems of the future.
As part of the resources for this show we have created games for you and your child to play at home. Please read, utilise and enjoy these games. The CD that available at the show is also a very useful and ongoing resource. We offer these resources as a non profit aspect of our operation for you to use and enjoy at home, further reinforcing the positive and fun aspects of language acquisition.
Like tightrope walkers, our children cross the wire of life; balancing the demands of body, mind and spirit; sometimes moving forward and sometimes faltering. The wise friend walks below or beside the wire guiding, advising and sometimes urging, but always aware of the demands and dangers of the wire. The foolish friend shouts ¡°go faster, learn faster.¡± Patience and laughter are a precious things.
When our founder Park Myung Shin commissioned LATT Children¡¯s Theatre he dedicated it to the growth in our children¡¯s imagination, love and conscience; the future of the world belongs to them.
This is LATTCT¡¯s fifth year of operation, and through your patronage our growth has been exceptional! We now tour to eight cities in Korea and in 2007 were the flagship performance for Australia¡¯s leading festival for young audiences. The Korean Economist describes us as ¡°the benchmark for children¡¯s theatre in Korea¡± and Australia¡¯s Courier Mail newspaper says ¡°LATT Children¡¯s Theatre is pure magic.¡± You, as an audience, have contributed greatly to this success by your patronage, support and lively debate on our web site, which we read and listen to carefully.
I offer you my thanks, enjoy the show!

¡Ú Synopsis
Welcome to the circus of life!
The show is about to begin, we can hear the band warming up and the artists are stretching their muscles.
But the circus is in trouble!
The Ringmaster has recently realised her life¡¯s dream and bought the circus; but there are so many problems. The Clown has his own ideas about how to run the show; the Fool has fallen in love and is not always focused on the show; the Musician is too concerned with the happiness of the young lovers and the dancer has completely lost the ability to talk.
Through the journey of the show the Clown and the Musician help the Ringmaster to learn patience and kindness, the Fool to express his personal feelings and the Dancer to overcome her fear of speaking in public.
The end result is a happy and confident circus with a great future
