¡Ú Introduction

Shadow Thief is contemporary and engaging musical narrative which combines live performance with beautiful watercolour environments and 3D Max real time animation, creating a world where shadows are alive and imagination is reality.

The performers utilize our trademark vocal harmonies with exotic characters; and hilarious puppets to draw the audience through the imaginative world of shadows and dreams.

The result is ¡°a blend of new and mythic characters moving through a rich tapestry of images in an archetypal ¡®quest tale¡¯ redolent of Gilgamesh, Little Dragon and The Wizard of Oz.¡±

¡Ú The Story

Anna lives in a lighthouse with her family. Her best friend is her shadow. She is a brave girl and enjoys jumping from the roof of the lighthouse to the shark filled waters below. Her parents warn her not to jump but she does not stop. At bedtime her parent¡¯s warn her that people who are naughty three times in one day could be visited by the shadow thief.

That night as Anna sleeps she dreams that the shadow thief creeps in to her room and steals her shadow. When Anna finds her shadow has gone she is very sad but as she sits crying the Shadow Friend comes in to her room and gives her a bag, telling her that if she can get the Shadow Thief in to the bag then the all the captured shadows will be free.

Anna is warned that the bag will protect her but if she gives them to anybody else the Shadow Thief will have power over her. Anna is not happy but she agrees to pursue her quest.

In her dream quest Anna enters three rooms. The first room is a maze with an angry Minotaur and the second a cold Medusa guarding a door. At first both of these creatures are frightening and unfriendly but Anna finds that they too are missing their shadows and they join her as companions on her quest.

In the third room the friends encounter the shadow thief she sends them to the horrible ¡®Darkworld¡¯ and in the ensuing battle both the Maxwell and Medusa are lost, but Anna succeeds in catching the Shadow Thief in her bag and the shadows and her friends are freed.

When Anna wakes her ¡®best friend¡¯ is there with her and she is unsure if it was real or a dream.
